The most obvious flaw about this controller is the lack of rumble. Does sixaxis make up for it? No, because sixaxis is hardly even used in any of the games out today. And the games that you do use the sixaxis function in, is only a minor aspect of the game and its controls.

Another flaw are the L2/R2 buttons. Sony has now modified them like "triggers." That said, the analog sticks feel much more flexible than the PS2 analog sticks, which is great. My first major impression of the controller when I picked it up was, "Wow, this is really light." For anyone who played on the older Dual-Shock controllers for the PS2 or the X-Box/X-Box 360 controllers, the PS3 controller is almost non-existent in weight by comparison.

Secondly, being wireless is a huge boon. I currently have the PS3 hooked up to my projector, which is at the back of the room. I don't know if this is a console issue or if it's specific to my controllers, but both of my PS3 controllers have been know to periodically stop responding for a few seconds. That may not sound like a big deal, but when that perfect pitch is on its way and you're trying to knock it out of the park, there's nothing worse than a controller that doesn't respond when you try to swing the bat. And the battery design is absurd, requiring the controllers to be charged with the system (which is even more ridiculous when you consider that the USB cable that Sony provides is only about 3 feet long, and you don't get an extra cable when you buy an extra controller) and prohibiting the use of alkaline batteries as a substitute. Finally, the overall design is too flimsy. Although controllers aren't meant to be abused I expect them to survive the occasional anger-induced drop to the floor. I've lost 2 PS3 controllers to damage, but no Xbox 360 controllers.

If you do not own an Xbox 360 it probably will not bother you as much, but there is a huge difference in quality and features.
No user replaceable battery means you have to plug it in to charge (which sucks and is not very future-like); it also means when the battery dies, you are screwed, and instead of $10 for a battery, its $40ish for a new controller (unless you want to take it apart and look for a battery, not yet readily available).
No rumble! It is typical of sony to be sour at companies, and cheap, and make the end user pay for it (No Rumble: over 90 million reasons / IR: Logitech, list goes on and on).
Also, battery life does not seem to be very good or as stated (nothing new), but maybe it's just more noticeable because I have to wait to charge it instead of just replacing the battery, and with the PS3 ports deactivated on standby (that was stupid), you have to power on the PS3 to charge it (for 3 hours at around 200w of wasted power for 5v), or just use a PC or 5v USB (ipod-like) wall adaptor (which I will probably buy soon and run it under the couch, however lame).

For the good points...
It connects faster than the 360 and I have not had 1 problem connecting as I have had a few times with the 360.
It's the standard PS2 design, so it will feel right to most people.
It does not easily show scuffs/markes like the white 360 controllers.
My hands do not seem to sweat as easily as with the 360, maybe because its smaller shape and lighter (lighter because no rumble and cheap plastic), but I think its because the 360 controller seems to fit better and touches more of the hand.

The PS3 is a great deal when you look at the whole package (I plan to get another), and I understand sony wanted to cut some costs (they have a lot invested in blu-ray and PS3), but sony is playing catch-up with a little company called Microsoft!

I'll keep it short.

CONS:
1) SIXAXIS feature is cool for racing, msteering but takes getting used to. Personally I prefer a racing wheel as holding up a controller in free air does not come natural.
2) The controller is light and 'squeaks': It is not as solid as the old PS2 controllers.
3) These do not come with the USB charge cables which ofcourse can be purchased online, however, you'd probably want a 10ft length of it which is almost impossble to find (we got extensions, which cost another 6$)

PROS:
1) Charge lasts forever
2) SIXAXIS is very responsive and is great on some games (like WARHAWK).
3) Kids love wireless!
4) You can have up to 7 of these connected to the PS3
5) they auto-switch off when the PS3 switches off
