I have never had a gaming console until I purchased the PS3, so my views are not generated by past experiences with game console controllers.
I have only one issue with the controllers, and it may be that it is not the controller BUT the tecnology itself. While playing many differing games, the characters do not always do what I command them to do. At times, the characters do not even respond to controller input. For example, when I play Assassin's Creed there are times when Altair simply does whatever he feels like doing. He will take off and run...and keep on running with no input from me. Other times, he (and characters of other games) will not respond to button presses or stick commands at all. I use the Nyko charging base that charges four controllers at once, so I keep all of my controllers fully charged.
I wanted to use the phrase "Has Minor Issue" as my title BUT it does not feel like a minor issue when you are in the middle of the fight of your life and your controller commands leave your character motionless, or cause them to move/jump/strike the incorrect direction. Or your character just takes off for a little romp around the park without any command from you to do so. This has happened with COD 4, RFOM, Rachet & Clank:TOD, Assassin's Creed, URT III, Folklore, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Elder Scrolls: The Oblivion...and others.
With this many games affected, I have to believe it is the controller technology, and not the games themselves, causing this phenomenon.
My only past controller experience has been a wireless Logitch controller for my Computer (Wingman). This controller was the cat's meow, and I never had issues as mentioned above with literally 100 plus different title PC games.
I think it is possible that the bluetooth technology is just not quite there yet(?) However, I am not an expert by any means.
Other than the aforementioned, I have had wonderful gaming experiences since crossing over to the dark side (gaming consoles) *snicker*
Just a quick side note, once retailers are done playing the game of "supply and demand" artificially jacking up the cost for the XBox 360 Elite system, that will be my next purchase. 120 GB hard drive...WOW! I predict "fun" in my future :)
Happy Holidays,
