With a battery life of about 10 hours (if I remember correctly), there should be no need for more than one USB cable. When you play single player games just charge the controller with the lowest charge and use the freshest controller. The need for more than one USB cable is the exception, not the rule, so it would not make any sense for Sony to charge the extra money for a USB cable with every controller. You just use any USB to mini-USB cable and it works just fine. you can pick those up for about $4, so avoid Game Stop's $10 cables. The lack of vibration is an issue for some people but Sony recently made amends with the company that supplies that so they have already released the vibrating sixaxis controllers in Japan and will be released in the USA soon. My only personal complaint is the price, but that might be due to the fact that the last game console I owned was a Super Nintendo, and controllers only cost $20 for it.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 Wireless Sixaxis Controller.
